About The Site

Vigilute is about being vigilant and resolute about important issues faced by Americans.  (Okay, I made it up because I needed a unique name that no one else had.)

It is a place where I can develop my writing, organize my thoughts and express my opinions about all kinds of things.  I welcome responses.  I will try to add new posts weekly.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Please leave me ideas on how to improve  it.

You can contact me at (monitored on weekends).

Seven Things About Me

1.  I am a Christian, a follower of the Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, and am a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  What we believe is summarized on the LCMS website.

2.  I am a husband and a father.  I live with my wife and cat.  The children are grown.

3.  I am a believer  in the importance and freedom of the individual upon which our nation was founded.  I believe that the Constitution of the United States and especially the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the constitution, incorporate these values and should be followed as written.

4.  I am reasonably well educated.  I have a bachelor of science degree in engineering technology and a master of business administration degree.

5.  I am an employee of a company in the management system development business.  After a long career working in various positions for companies in the manufacturing sector, I now work in a position where I visit dozens of client companies, mainly in manufacturing, all over the Midwest.

6.  I am a lover of the outdoors.  I love gardening and photography.  I used to do some backpacking and have competed in biathlons, triathlons, and running races.

7.  I am a reader.  I prefer non-fiction.
